We woke up and dread swept over us and we watched the news report of rain and high winds in our path to Harpers Ferry.
Tim brought a rain jacket and a poncho for his saddle bags but the rest of us prepared to get wet. Fortunately, the bad weather was forecasted to start at 11am so we had a few hours back on the WMRT Trail before cutting over to the C&O. Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) is a 22-mile paved route with magnificent views of the Potomac River.

It did start raining right on schedule and by this time we were back on the C&O:

Along the way a few more photo opportunities with the Potomac river in the background:
Dam #5 outside Williamsport:
Our lunch stop was in Williamsport – Karma in every cup! One of our favorite places.
With each of our meals, we have learned a little more about each other so I think it is time for our traditional “How did Tim do it” poll:
After lunch, we headed to Harpers Ferry. 60 miles to DC and then we are done. Tomorrows post will include the final analysis, the answer to Tim’s first car and our movie trailer.
Other pictures from the day:

It turns out, we are staying at the Hotel Hell in Harpers Ferry. Gordon Ramsey with the proprietor.
